The Studio

I've spent the last decade photographing places in the light they already have — a pass at dawn, a night market, a coastline going flat under cloud. No lighting truck crosses the border with me. The frames I care about are the ones that feel like being there, not like a postcard printed after the fact.

The work has run in independent travel magazines, brand campaigns for outdoor labels, and a growing number of collectors' walls as fine-art prints. Whatever the brief, the goal is the same: a set of images that feel honest a year later, not just on the day they were made. I'd rather bring home fewer, truer frames than a card no one opens twice.

I trained in documentary photography before drifting toward long-form travel stories, and that habit of watching before shooting never left. It's why I travel slowly, ask before I photograph, and let so much of the work happen in the quiet hours between the frames that make the edit.
